Author Pat Taylor as Aunt Boo reading to children

Author Pat Eytcheson Taylor has brought a new perspective to reading to elementary school children with fun and laughter. She is both the author and a character—Aunt Boo—in her books.

Pat Taylor has a knack for communicating with animals, and, in turn, they share their stories with her. The entertaining stories are beautifully illustrated.

Throughout the Christmas holidays, her first book in her  series about a squirrel, Scamper with the Peanut Butter Feet, became extremely popular across Texas. Aunt Boo teaches Scamper, the mischievous squirrel, a good lesson.

The second book in the series, Hide and Seek with Scamper, has just been released and is already proving to be another winner. Two more Scamper books will follow in the spring.

The books are available at the Twig Bookshop in San Antonio, Read All about It in Boerne, and Hastings Book Store in Kerrville, as well as Barnes and Noble and Borders and Amazon.com.

Of course, you can also order the books right here directly from the author and get them autographed as well.

Hide and Seek with Scamper

Hide-and-Seek with ScamperScamper, the Mischievous Squirrel: Book 2

Scamper was a big grey squirrel who lived in a wonderful place filled with everything he could ever want to eat—apples, plums, pecans, and the delicious cornbread Aunt Boo made. There was one catch to his living here. He had Aunt Boo to put up with, or should I say, Aunt Boo had to put up with him.

When winter came, Scamper knew he had to be prepared with a source of food. He had gathered more than enough pecans. Now Scamper did not know where to store them. All his favorite places were full. He had a tough decision to make.

More antics from Scamper and more terrific illustrations from Nancy Garnett Peterson to go along with the wonderful story by Pat Taylor.

Scamper tries a flower

Scamper was curious, as usual. Was this something to smell or to eat? First he sniffed, then he tasted. “Phooey!” They did not taste good, but they did smell delicious, he thought.
